Oh no…not another change!!
Have you ever done one thing for long enough that even the thought of a change seemed daunting. Consider the many things that you do in a day to understand whether there is a better or more efficient way to do it. Here in an example:
I and my family moved to Sheldahl, Iowa in 2007 (Sheldahl is about 5 miles north of Polk City). At that time, my office was off University Ave in West Des Moines. Being new to the area, and not wanting to get lost as I would get to the office, I drove the path that I knew. This path took me West 6 miles to Madrid, IA and onto Hwy 17 on my way to Hw141 to the Des Moines metro and the interstate. It seemed to me to be a very efficient path. For nearly 3 years, this was my path to work. It was not until on a random weekend that I found myself on a drive around the area that I discovered there was a road that would head south and land me closer to my destination, 15 minutes closer. There is an old saying that goes “you don’t know, what you don’t know.”
Now, where am I going with this? There are decisions that we all make every day based on the avenue that will get the job done….and the path that will get us there quicker. I just had not gotten outside of my box yet to see if there was a better way. Welcome to our office’s recent decisions. As an independent financial advisor office, we have a lot decisions to make in serving our clients. One of those decisions was to streamline some of our investment providers to one platform. Until now, we have served our Fee Based clients through one Broker, our insurance clients through another Broker, and our annuity clients through a different Broker. Although it would not likely change the service experience for our clients, it continued to cause a headache for this office. To liken my 2007 drive always getting to the correct destination, we had never “been on a drive” to see if there was a better way. And, as we got increasingly comfortable with the inefficiency of our office’s efforts, the harder it seemed to make a change. Welcome to the change. As of July 1st, Rundahl Financial Consultants will be bringing these services together.
How will this affect our clients? (“If you like your insurance…you can keep your insurance!) Sorry, bad joke in the election season. It will not have any negative effect on your world. Your investments will stay at their respective company (American Funds, Charles Schwab, etc). Our team will still be trading with the same mindset for loss avoidance and opportunity capture to growth in your accounts. Your insurance will not change, if it is with North American Life, Protective Life, Nationwide, etc; then it will still be there on July 1st.
What is really changing? Outside of the emotional rollercoaster that our office will have over the next month with the results of what change can do, it will bring great value to our current and future clients. It will streamline client online access to accounts, soon to be accessible in one statement available through our website. It will allow our team to access client information, account values, process trades, and provide the service that our clients deserve in a faster, more efficient way. At Rundahl Financial Consultants, we look forward to the end game. In truth, the change will be worth it. We just need to get out on the drive to see the end result. Hang in there as we make it through this….we have been preparing for this transition for nearly 3 months and are excited to see the efficiency it will bring. Through it all, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. We do now and will continue to adapt to “Have you Covered!”
